Chris is a small business owner based in Naracoorte. He owns and runs two businesses: a milk and cold produce distribution business that services the upper Limestone Coast, utilising Naracoorte as a central distribution hub for cold produce, in conjunction with South Australian logistic companies; as well as a sales business selling fresh produce (mainly onions) to all the major
markets around Australia and internationally.
Chris has managed a diverse range of agricultural business from grazing properties, large scale irrigation, onion packing shed and processing plant but is now focused on his own businesses.
Chris is a father of four who enjoys spending time with his family and riding his bike and getting outdoors on the weekends.

Fiona has been a Real Estate agent for over 10 years and has had a
variety of different businesses and roles, primarily in the business sector.
She started SEPSM in October 2016 and now employs 7 people.
Heavily involved in all things
community, developing various concepts and local initiatives such as the introduction of ‘The Central Hub Market’ (promoting local produce while filling one of the largest empty shops in the main street) and a fundraising concept called “The Community Funnel” with raises funds and awareness for local groups.
The Community Funnel earned Fiona and her business the 2018 Community Spirit Award from the MBCA Business awards. The business also was named as a Finalist in the REISA awards in the Top 10 Best Small Agencies in South Australia in 2018.

Tracy is an Urban and Regional Planner with qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Studies and Business Management. Tracy has extensive experience working in both State and Local Government with well developed skills in both strategic and statutory planning.
Tracy is currently managing the Development Services division (Planning and Building) of the City of Mount Gambier as well as promoting the orderly and proper development of the City.
After living in Adelaide for six years, Tracy returned to Mount Gambier to pursue her interest of promoting good planning practices within a regional area. She soon met her husband and has two children, Emily 14 and Justin 12. Tracy’s spare time is now spent volunteering at her children’s sporting interests which includes baseball, cricket, softball, netball and hockey.
Tracy is looking forward to participating in the 2019 Limestone Coast Leadership Program as she is keen to promote the many and diverse opportunities that regional areas offer and contribute towards making the Limestone Coast a great place to live.
Business Development Manager - Limestone Coast | NHP Electrical Engineering Products Pty Ltd
Michael is a 5th generation Mount Gambier local, so he has a genetically entrenched passion for the region. Michaels working career commenced with CBC Bearings and Power Transmission where he spent 12 years working his way up to become Assistant Manager. He then ventured into the totally unknown, securing a position with NHP Electrical Engineering Products as Business Development Manager where he has spent the last 10 years.
This role has allowed him to work closely with large scale industry in the region currently including Kimberly Clark Australia, Onefortyone Wood Products, Borg Manufacturing, Union Dairy Co, Timberlink, SA Water, Mondelez, Teys Bros, JBS Australia and Blue Lake Milling to name a few. On a social level Michael is a keen member and past treasurer of the Blue Lake Golf Club, an avid speedway fan and a current participant in Mount Gambier’s park run group.
Multicultural Community Services Coordinator | Australian Migrant Resource Centre
Tracey is a dedicated community advocate who is passionate about her community and its people. Raised in the Mid North of SA before relocating to Melbourne, only to return to the country following marriage to a local Bordertown farmer, Nathan, 20 years ago. Tracey has worked across various health fields, studying and working as a Registered Nurse for 25 years.
An active community member and on various local committees and community groups, which has included working for local government developing programs such as the local aquatics program for the Tatiara District Council.
Currently the settlement coordinator for the Australian Migrant Resource Centre in Bordertown, with a focus on fostering partnerships to ensure sustainable settlement and employment for migrants of refugee background. Tracey loves sport, values health, and cherishes family times with her two teenage children and husband.
Mt Gambier Saleyards Business Manager | District Council of Grant
Born and raised in the district on a farm at Glencoe, Peter's working career has included the financial sector, timber, manufacturing, transport and fuel industries and currently in local government with the District Council of Grant as Business Manager overseeing the Mount Gambier & District Saleyards.
Peter has enjoyed considerable sporting success at state and national level (table tennis and tennis) and locally (football). A volunteer committee person with table tennis (ten years), tennis (31 years & continuing) and football (26 years & continuing) in a number of positions including Treasurer. Peter has been the President for the Mid South Eastern Football League for the past ten years.
Selected from Rotary District 9780 on a Group Study Exchange as a team member exchanging with Rotary District 1260 in England, just north of London in March & April of 2004. Peter has been married to Naomi for 23 years and has two boys Bradley (21) & Patrick (18) and a daughter Jorja (13) and enjoys working with and meeting new people, travel, volunteering for sporting interests and watching his children develop new skills.

Hayley has a background in banking, having worked in the retail and financial planning sectors of one of the big four banks, across Kingston, Adelaide and Mount Gambier. During her time with the bank Hayley won an award for Service Consultant of the year in the South East and Adelaide Hills region, and was one of 20 staff across the state accepted into the leadership and development ‘Rising Stars’ Program.
In 2017, Hayley changed her career path to work more closely with the community, accepting a role working with a not-for-profit employment agency. In 2018 Hayley entered the disability sector, where she now works for Minda Incorporated.
Hayley is currently completing a Bachelor in Social Science, majoring in behavioural studies, and intends on undertaking a post-graduate degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Hayley has lived in various locations across the Limestone Coast, settling in Mount Gambier in 2016 where she lives with her partner and step daughter.
Craig is a qualified fabrictor engineer with 12 years industry experience, employed with L.V.Dohnt & Co. for the past three in the role of Workshop Supervisor/Maintenance Planner.
With additional qualifications in other mechancial trades, when not working at his desk Craig is hands on working with his team.
In addition to undertaking this Leadership Program Craig intends to undertake a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Honours) (Mechatronics).
Craig and his wife live in the Mount Gambier Region, having built a home here. They have 3 boys aged 7, 5 and 3. When he isnt at work or studying, Craig is focused on family time and outdoor activities.
Furniture and Wine Box Maker - Bedfords
After working in Adelaide in the IT department of the Police Credit Union for 2 years, Paul and his wife moved back to the South East for what they agreed, was a wonderful region to raise their family, their twins (a boy and a girl) are now twelve.
Paul at age 18, was diagnosed with a visual condition called Cone Dystrophy. His central vision has progressively deteriorated, leaving night vision problems and colour distortions. Signifigant deteriation over the last 5 years has seen ‘Bree’ Pauls guide dog, become an intergral member of his family. Bree has given Paul much independence within the community.
Currently making furniture and wine boxes with Bedfords, Mount Gambier Paul enjoys learning new skills and working with others who are challenged with disabilities. Recently completing an online European History unit through Macquarie University, assisted in Pauls decision to undertake a program such as this. Paul is anticipating the program will assist to develop his skills to approach a broader range of people, be able to better express his views and to advocate and influence as required. Paul is keen to share, learn and understand others perspectives and experiences.
Bush Management Advisor | Natural Resources South East - Department for Environment and Water (DEW)
work as an ecologist provides her opportunity to assist landholders with a
broad range of conservation activities including revegetation projects,
establishment of shelterbelts and paddock trees and the protection of
threatened species. She has a research background with a PhD in wetland
ecology. The incredible diversity and number of wetlands in the South East are
the focus of her research interests.
Abigail loves talking to people about the natural
environment and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for native flora, wildlife
and natural places. Her favourite work days are those spent in the field!
Abigail always finds that time flies when she is training and riding her horse,
spending time in the garden with her family, or bird-watching at Bool Lagoon.
Dr Melissa Fraser
Senior Consultant | Rural Solution SA, Primary Industries and Regions SA
Mel is a passionate soil
scientist working with farmers across the South East and Murray Mallee to
understand and overcome soil-based barriers to productivity. With a focus on
sandy soils, her work involves assessing techniques to boost the production of
both broadacre crops, pastures and potatoes. She can often be found towing a
soil sampling rig, swinging a shovel or in a hole seeking out acidic
Melissa completed a PhD in the late 2000’s, studying the impact of the regions artificial drainage network on the soils of the Avenue Plain. She possesses a keen interest in exploring and explaining the geological evolution of the Limestone Coast and the soils that formed as a result.
Mel has gained extensive knowledge of the Australian agricultural and horticultural sectors, having worked for the Queensland and Northern Territory Governments before moving to Naracoorte in 2014 to commence employment with PIRSA.
Melissa has two young boys, a flair for cooking, a love of building with timber and enjoys weekends at their beach shack in Kingston.
Registered Community Health Nurse Kingston SE Office and WHS Manager | Telang Pastoral Company
has had extensive experience in both the private and public health systems,
having worked since 2005 as a Registered Nurse. Recent employment has been in
community health and medical clinics in Millicent, Kingston and Robe.
Kirsty moved from Adelaide to Kingston in 2007 to live and work on a sheep and cattle farm at Reedy Creek with husband, Rob. They have 2 young children, Jack (6) and Annie (4). In more recent years, Kirsty has helped work on the family farm and studied a Diploma in Agribusiness in 2017.
Kirsty is very passionate about volunteering and has been involved with community-based clubs including Kingston Netball and Football Clubs,
Chairperson of the Kingston Early Centre, Red Cross pillow case project presenter, Barefoot Benefit Robe and is a C badge netball umpire.
Rae was bought up in rural New Zealand and has travelled extensively
throughout her adult life. After settling in the Limestone Coast 6 years ago
Rae is engaged in building a self sustainable lifestyle in a small rural
Her working life has included jobs as diverse as being a roofer, milking cows, crewing on yachts, limousine chauffeur and writing the first clinical coding training manual in the United Kingdom. Currently working as a school bus driver Rae's career has been primarily in the Healthcare Management industry – in both Britain and New Zealand – with over 30 years experience in that sector.
Included in that career were extensive requirements for providing training, assisting in the development of service provision, improving clinical outcomes, planning the building new hospital facilities, audit – clinical and administrative, bench-marking, risk assessment and management, case-mix and skill-mix analysis, project management and process reengineering. Finding innovative, proactive and - above all - workable solutions was the cornerstone of all work undertaken. Rae has an adult teaching qualification and UK diploma in Healthcare Management.
Rae is the secretary of a community and recreation club, is also a member of Tatiara's Tourism Group, volunteers at the local radio station and has an active interest in the promotion of the local regions as they are today and historically. She recently began learning Karate.
Vineyard Supervisor | Treasury Wine Estates
Henry is a Vineyard Supervisor growing premium wine grapes in the Coonawarra region. In his 10 years experience with Treasury Wine estates he gained viticultural skills and knowledge at Heathcote, Vic, Eden Valley, Bordertown, Robe, Padthaway. An opportunity arose to join the TWE Sustainability team at Penfolds Magill, which then lead to a role with the Continuous team as an analyst benchmarking winery and vineyard sites across the TWE global supply chain.
Wanting to return to the South East he moved into a vineyard operations Supervisor role in Coonawarra, developing practical skills along with leading a team of 15 operators across 850ha of high grade vineyards.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young girls and playing golf.
Office Manager | Holiday Trading & Co
Andrew grew up with his twin brother in Northern Victoria and was raised on the family vineyards. Growing up in the country has given Andrew his well rounded appreciation for the environment and all things rural.
For most of his working life he was a chef, operating his own successful and critically acclaimed businesses in both Robe and Fitzroy. Andrew recently had a career change and is now working at Holiday Trading & Co as the Office Manager.
Andrew is a well respected member of the Robe Community. He is currently Chairperson of the Robe Community Bank board and is an active member of the Robe Tennis Club, acting as Captain and player. In addition he is also Captain of the Southern Ports Tennis Association, overseeing three junior & senior tournaments throughout the year.
Andrew has called home to Tasmania and Melbourne and has now finally settled in Robe South Australia. He currently lives with his long term partner and their three working dogs and is a fanatical Geelong Cats member.
Farzana is an experienced Bio-Lingual support for students and community
members from non-english speaking backgrounds assisting with intergration,
developing connections, building relationships and advising and supporting
schools and community members regarding behavioural and cultural issues.
Farzana’s experience includes working in the childcare field, interpreting, finance and financial system design and execution. Achievements include a nomination for Leadership in Language and Culture Awards 2019, The People of Australia Ambassadors Award 2013 and the Naracoorte Young Citizen of the Year Award in 2010.
Farzana lives in Naracoorte and enjoys travelling, walking, sudoku and socialising.
